As you may have noticed in previous articles, such as the recent ‘Development Plans of ECAT eCommerce in 2024. P#2/5‘, our plans are very ambitious and concrete. We know what we want and where we are heading. We have clear expansion plans to execute, as we know exactly what we want to do and when.
You might wonder what other significant milestones we have here? Today, we will talk a bit about expansion into foreign markets. When we will move into foreign markets depends only on our decision and on stabilizing our ‘Ferrari’ or ‘BMW’, as you prefer, meaning our Manager 3.0.
The first step, before we move into the markets you will learn about below, is to test our software in our native Polish market in beta version, and then in production version. If the tests and everything we have planned go as needed, then we can really move to the whole world, not just Poland.
We have already opened our software to the first operators, and from February 1st, everyone will be able to create their account and take on the challenge and start selling in the domestic market, and later in foreign markets. What do we have for you today? See for yourself.
We plan to fully open the Czech market at the turn of the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2024.
We plan to fully open the Czech market at the turn of the first and second quarter of this year. Full opening, because we are already operating there indirectly using Allegro. We want to open up in the Czech market in the same way we are in the Polish market, i.e., full-fledged full dropshipping.
We will shorten delivery times by 2-3 days.
The Czech Republic is very close to us. This will certainly favor both sales in Poland and in the Czech Republic, as we plan to shorten delivery times in both places. From our headquarters, it is about 100 km to the transshipment point in Ostrava. For this purpose, we will have a courier bus, and this is how we will shorten delivery times. So on Polish Allegro, if we sell to the Czech Republic, we will shorten delivery times in some cases by 2-3 days, which is a lot.
Reduction in delivery costs.
With such a solution, we will also be able to reduce the costs of such delivery. On the other hand, we will also operate in the Polish market, i.e., we will be transporting goods from the Czech Republic to Poland. We have a very nice warehouse, with which we have partnered, this warehouse is Kokiska, which enjoys great popularity, especially in the spring-summer and autumn periods.
Collaboration with Czech warehouse Kokiska.
Kokiska is a Czech warehouse. We are currently finishing the integration, as far as the Czech side is concerned, because until December we only had access to the Polish version of this warehouse. From January, we will also have access to the Czech warehouse. And, for example, there the hits were wheelbarrows and ladders, in which the cost of delivery was very high, but we will reduce this delivery cost and also reduce delivery times.
We will carry this out with one BUS, at the beginning one BUS will be completely sufficient. This BUS will really deliver products in both directions, as we want. It can run 3-4 times a day, between Poland and the Czech Republic, as it is close from us. It’s only 100 km, so quite a short distance.
Remember that we, as ECAT eCommerce, do not intend to enter into the logistical segment related to deliveries, so we will not develop a courier network, as this is not the premise of our company.
We focus on what sells best.
It is important that we will also not deliver the entire goods, but only those that sell very well. Those that are larger in size and those that are also with us, as we will not, as it were, double the costs. These are maybe details, but we want you to have a certain picture of our activities in the Czech market.
The UK market is already waiting to be conquered.
You ask us questions, when are we starting and when will the UK market be opened?
Actually, we are already ready for the UK, just like for the Czech Republic. In both cases, it is roughly the first and second quarter. I think we will surprise everyone in February when it comes to activities in these two countries, as we have the system ready for the market, i.e., opening these next markets.
Warehouses can already be added. Translations will be done by Artificial Intelligence (AI.) This option and translation service is already in Manager 3.0. Market and currency management is already in Manager 3.0, so in fact, we are ready for international service also for customers who buy abroad. So everything is ready for expansion.
Indirect expansion into the Hungarian and Slovak markets.

We are already gradually verifying issues related to Slovakia and Hungary, as far as sales in these markets are concerned. At first, it will be indirect sales, as these markets will be attacked by Allegro this year, attacked in a good sense of the word, so we also want to be the first to appear and immediately give our operators the opportunity to sell in these markets.
Why this way? First, it’s free marketing. Secondly, you can make quite a lot of money in these markets. So, it will be similar to what happened last year in the Czech market, only here we will attack together with Allegro.
When does the US market start?
This year, we will be verifying the issue related to the US market. If everything goes well, then we will also appear in this market.
Preparations for expansion in the USA.
Currently, we are still considering the issue, which will be verified in February, if everything goes well in terms of the US market. At 90%, we will appear at the Global Congress of Poles, at the Congress of 60 million, which will take place on February 1-3, 2024, in Miami.
Last year, Tadeusz and I had the pleasure of participating in the Polish edition of this congress, 60 million, which was last year — recalls Michał Knap and Grzegorz Ciupek. At this congress, we had our presentation on new technologies and could say a little about ECAT eCommerce.
This year it is in Miami, so it will be a nice opportunity to explore this market, to meet people who know what and how, because really, when it comes to the United States or markets outside the European Union, contacts are worth double in gold. This is primarily about bureaucracy and legal issues, how you can organize all this so that it simply makes sense, to be worth entering the US market.
