The latest update to the ECAT eCommerce system includes several key changes and improvements that will significantly improve the working comfort of store operators on the Allegro platform. One of the most important improvements is the resolution of the product duplication issue. Previously, duplicate listings posed a serious inconvenience, complicating inventory management and causing chaos in product listings. By resolving this issue, operators can now manage their offers more efficiently, leading to greater clarity and better organization of sales.
With the release of the update, we have developed a way to prevent auctions from reopening when adding another product with the same EAN code. Instead, the information will be overwritten, and the system will select the cheapest offer for the given product while blocking the possibility of sending another identical product. This will prevent the duplication of products on the same Allegro account. Selling the same product will be allowed on a maximum of two separate Allegro accounts. Previous problems arose from product duplication and the opening of additional auctions instead of overwriting existing offers. Thanks to this update, these problems will gradually disappear.

Previously, such changes could lead to confusion and errors in product presentation, negatively impacting the visibility and availability of offers to potential customers. With the introduced changes, Allegro will no longer need to change the category of a given product, as the ECAT eCommerce system will ensure its correct assignment to the appropriate category at the listing stage. Data Processing
Data processing is a crucial stage that follows the implementation of updates. Currently, we need to process all the missing information from Allegro, which requires querying the platform for up-to-date data on each product. This is a time-consuming process that requires accuracy and precision. So far, Allegro has responded to 11,000 out of 253,000 queries, meaning we still have a lot of work ahead of us. At the current response rate, we predict completing this process between 14:00 and 15:00. In the meantime, we ask for your patience and assure you that we are doing everything to restore the full functionality of the system as soon as possible.
Automation and Monitoring
To speed up the data processing process, we have introduced automation and monitoring with a simple script. This script checks every 5 minutes to see if all responses from Allegro have been received. Once all data is collected, the script will wait an additional 20 minutes to ensure no further information is incoming, after which it will automatically enable the Kafka system and self-delete. This makes the data processing process more efficient and minimizes the risk of delays in data synchronization.
If our server stops receiving responses from Allegro due to a blockage or the introduction of a new query limit, our IT department will be immediately notified. This solution allows us to quickly identify and resolve issues, minimizing potential disruptions to the system’s operation. This ensures continuous service and smooth functioning of our tools, which is crucial for store operators using the ECAT eCommerce platform.

Token buybacks allow customers to reduce the cost of future purchases by the previously collected tokens.
